The prompt

I need help with this workflow: Turn GitHub pull requests into release-ready summaries

Goal: Keep non-engineers informed with plain-English updates from pull requests, incidents, and sprint movement

Please use my connected apps (GitHub, Linear) to complete this.

1. Gather only the information needed for this task. Ask me if a detail is missing (channel name, date range, account, folder, etc.).
2. Produce a clear result with:
   - Short summary (plain English)
   - Important details and context
   - Recommended next actions (with owners if known)
   - Links or sources when available
3. Flag anything uncertain, stale, sensitive, or missing — do not guess.
Do not change or delete anything — summarize and recommend only.

Keep it under 400 words. Use bullet points.

Paste into Claude Desktop. Claude will use your connected apps: GitHub, Linear.

Expected outcome

Keep non-engineers informed with plain-English updates from pull requests, incidents, and sprint movement

Troubleshooting

I can't find Connectors in Claude Desktop

Cause

You may be on claude.ai in a browser instead of the desktop app, or need an update.

Solution

Install or update Claude Desktop from claude.ai/download. Open Settings → Connectors or Integrations.

An app won't connect or needs admin approval

Cause

Your company may restrict third-party apps for Gmail, Slack, GitHub, or CRM tools.

Solution

Ask IT or your team lead to approve the Claude connector. Meanwhile, copy the relevant emails, tickets, docs, or exports into the chat and say "Use only what I pasted."

Claude can't find the data I expect

Cause

Wrong account connected, missing access, or the prompt needs a clearer source or date range.

Solution

Confirm you can see the data in the original app (Gmail, Slack, GitHub, etc.). Reconnect the connector. Add exact names: channel, repo, date range, customer, or folder.

The answer is too broad or too technical

Cause

The prompt needs tighter scope or simpler language.

Solution

Reply: "Focus on Engineering priorities only" or "Explain like I'm not an engineer." Add a date range or specific project name.

I'm not sure the output is safe to send

Cause

The recipe may include customer data, financials, or draft content.

Solution

Treat every output as a draft. Remove sensitive details. Have a teammate review before posting externally or updating customer records.
